Digital for Good was an annual, multi-day hackathon that Capital One designed and hosted. In 2019, my team created the event from top to bottom – including sourcing the venue, working with vendors, creating all the materials, preparing the hackers, creating a website/sign up page (click the link below to view), setting up the venue, and helping all weekend. What set Digital for Good apart from other hackathons was the experience that we created for the coders. From the beautiful location at Arcadian Loft to the delicious food that kept them fueled all weekend, they were treated like VIPs.

Each team of coders partnered with a Canadian charity to make a meaningful difference, but the impact went beyond code. People from all around Capital One, including writers, designers, and marketers, hopped in to help create the best solution. The event did not return after the pandemic, but continues to be an inspiring beacon of what we can accomplish when we use our skills for good.
